Gap Inc. said it has named Rebekka Bay as creative director and executive VP for Gap Global Design, effective Oct. 1.

San Francisco -- Gap Inc. said Monday it has named Rebekka Bay as creative director and executive VP for Gap Global Design, effective Oct. 1.

Bay is most noted for conceptualizing, developing and launching the COS brand for Hennes & Mauritz. She spent five years as creative director at COS.

Bay will be responsible for Women’s, Men’s, 1969, Accessories and Body lines worldwide.

Grocery parent Delhaize said it has named former Wendy’s and Arby’s CEO Roland Smith as president and CEO of Delhaize America and executive VP of Delhaize Group.

Salisbury, N.C. -- Grocery parent Delhaize said Friday it has named former Wendy’s and Arby’s CEO Roland Smith as president and CEO of Delhaize America and executive VP of Delhaize Group. Smith succeeds retiring CEO Ronald C. Hodge, effective Oct. 15.

Hodge will continue to serve the company in an advisory capacity.

Delhaize America operates supermarkets under the Food Lion, Hannaford and Sweetbay banners.

The TJX Cos. announced several senior management shifts, including moving current Marmaxx Group head Michael MacMillan to the company’s European division.

Framingham, Mass. -- The TJX Cos. announced Wednesday several senior management shifts, including moving current Marmaxx Group head Michael MacMillan to the company’s European division.

MacMillan, who has been in charge of the company’s largest division comprised of T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, will now be senior executive VP of TJX Europe. MacMillan replaces Paul Sweetenham, who recently resigned.

The current president of HomeGoods, Richard Sherr, will return to Marmaxx Group as senior executive VP.

Belk department store said Tuesday that it has selected Oracle Retail Merchandising System to enable a seamless, non-channel view of the brand both in-store and online.

Redwood Shores, Calif. -- Belk department store said Tuesday that it has selected Oracle Retail Merchandising System to enable a seamless, non-channel view of the brand both in-store and online.

“We are enabling next generation best practices that will center on optimizing the customer experience at both the store and ecommerce level,” said Mike Laurenti, CIO and executive VP, Belk.

Robert K. Futterman & Associates said that Gap has signed a long-term lease to open a store for its Gap 1969 brand in Manhattan.

New York City -- Robert K. Futterman & Associates said that Gap has signed a long-term lease to open a store for its Gap 1969 brand in Manhattan. The shop, which will feature Gap's 1969 denim collection, will be located downtown in the SoHo area, between Spring and Broome streets. Gap 1969 is currently operating in a temporary space in the neighborhood.

Gap 1969 is scheduled to open in early spring 2011. It will occupy 2,800 sq. ft. of ground-floor selling space, and 3,000 sq. ft. in the basement and the sub-basement.
