L.Brands, parent of Victoria's Secret, reported better-than-expected 3% sales in same-store sales for March. Zumiez Inc. and Buckle Inc. also both reported better-than-expected numbers.
Zumiez Inc. reported that net income for the quarter ended July 28 slipped to $2.1 million, from $2.6 million in the year-ago period, largely due to costs associated with its acquisition of Blue Tomato.
Action sports retailer Zumiez Inc. reported that profit surged 140% to $4.5 million for the quarter ended April 28, compared with $1.9 million for the year-ago period.
Teen retailer Zumiez Inc. reported that profit for the fourth quarter increased 24.9% to $18.7 million, from $15 million a year earlier, boosted by better margins.
Zumiez Inc. will move its e-commerce fulfillment operations from its headquarters in Everett, Wash., to Edwardsville, Kansas, in May to accommodate their growing online business and to increase the speed of product deliveries to online customers.
