New York -- Uniqlo on Friday will open its largest mall store in the world, in Westfield Garden State Plaza, Paramus, N.J. The two-level, 43,000-sq.-ft. store will serve as the prototype for the Japanese retailer¹s U.S. mall expansion.

The new Uniqlo replaces an Old Navy store and has its own separate entrance to the parking lot as well as a traditional mall entrance. A large LCD monitor display at the mall entrance will feature special interactive games and other content to engage shoppers.

New York -- Uniqlo will open a location in Westfield Garden State Plaza shopping center, Paramus, N.J., on Sept. 28. The new store will occupy a 43,000-sq.-ft. space with two levels, and feature a separate dedicated entrance and a prominent façade. It will serve as the prototype for Uniqlo’s mall expansion strategy.

Leading up to the opening, beginning Aug. 27 and continuing through Sept. 27, Uniqlo will operate a temporary store at the mall. The pop-up, designed to resemble a futuristic cube, will be located at the food court.

New York City -- A new concept, C. Wonder, has made its retail debut, opening a 5,000-sq.-ft. store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. The company is on track to open three mall  locations this fall: Garden State Plaza, Paramus, N.J.; The Westchester Mall, White Plains, N.Y.; and Roosevelt Field, Garden City, N.J.  An additional 20 locations are planned for 2012, according to various reports.

Hingham, Mass. -- The Talbots unveiled its new store design at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, N.J.

The 5,500-sq.-ft. store has an upscale, residential feel, with a layout of five individual rooms for different merchandise stories.

Talbots chief creative officer Michael Smaldone collaborated with Robin Kramer of Kramer Design Group on the space.
