Verifone Systems said that it has secured a deal with French department store chain Galeries Lafayette to handle its payment solutions and services over a five-year contract period.

San Jose, Calif. -- Verifone Systems said Tuesday that it has secured a deal with French department store chain Galeries Lafayette to handle its payment solutions and services over a five-year contract period.

The agreement includes managed services, software, helpdesk and 3,200 of VeriFone’s VX 820 advanced PIN acceptance devices that support credit, debit and EMV transactions, and include integrated NFC/contactless technology for alternative payments.

San Jose, Calif. -- VeriFone Systems said Tuesday that The Finish Line is deploying VeriFone’s latest mobile checkout and multimedia-driven countertop payment solutions.

Following a successful trial, Finish Line is currently deploying VeriFone systems chainwide with the goal of having all 638 locations equipped by mid-November when the holiday buying season begins. Finish Line is deploying 1,600 of the countertop multimedia MX 915 systems and 3,200 PAYware Mobile Enterprise secure mobile card acceptance devices for the iPod touch.

Beall’s also will be complementing the MX 915 with VeriFone HQ, an estate management solution allowing the retailer to keep stores up to date with evolving payment and mobile solutions.

San Jose, Calif. -- VeriFone Systems announced that New Balance and Samsonite have selected VeriFone GlobalBay's mobile point-of-sale solution.

The solution is designed to make it possible engage the customer in a more meaningful way by untethering the store associate from a fixed location POS register to provide mobile checkout at the point of interaction where its really needed. VeriFone GlobalBay apps also provide store associates with access to inventory, price and product information, as well as customer purchase history and recommendations.

San Jose, Calif. -- VeriFone Systems has acquired Lift Retail Marketing Technology Inc., Atlanta. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lift Retail developed and markets the Lift Station, a network-connected digital marketing hub that integrates with point-of-sale systems (POS) in the convenience store and petroleum retailing market.

VeriFone Systems said Tuesday it has acquired mobile retail solution-provider Global Bay Mobile Technologies.

San Jose, Calif. -- VeriFone Systems said Tuesday it has acquired mobile retail solution-provider Global Bay Mobile Technologies. According to VeriFone, the acquisition is part of its strategy to integrate mobile with retail and payments, extending new smartphone- and tablet-based shopping and payment experiences to retail organizations.

Terms of the transaction, which closed effective Tuesday, were not disclosed.

VeriFone Systems and Hypercom Corp. announced that they have reached an agreement to sell the U.S. payment systems business of Hypercom to Ingenico S.A.

San Jose, Calif. -- VeriFone Systems and Hypercom Corp. announced that they have reached an agreement to sell the U.S. payment systems business of Hypercom to Ingenico S.A.

The transaction is expected to close immediately prior to completion of VeriFone’s acquisition of Hypercom, which is expected to occur in the second half of 2011, subject to certain closing conditions.

Citing unnamed sources, Bloomberg said Google will pay to install thousands of special cash-register systems from VeriFone Systems at merchant locations. The plans haven’t yet been made public.
