Shopko said Wednesday that it has named Michael B. Cooper as senior VP marketing for the company, charged with leading the branding strategy and marketing initiatives.

Green Bay, Wis. -- Shopko said Wednesday that it has named Michael B. Cooper as senior VP marketing for the company, charged with leading the branding strategy and marketing initiatives.  

Cooper joined Shopko from Office Depot, where he was most recently VP marketing, and directed the office supply retailer’s strategic planning and allocation of the company’s marketing budget.

Orchard Supply Hardware Stores Corp. said it has named Samantha Osselaer as VP marketing, effective Nov. 5.

San Jose, Calif. -- Orchard Supply Hardware Stores Corp. said Wednesday it has named Samantha Osselaer as VP marketing, effective Nov. 5.

Osselaer was most recently senior director, creative and branding, for Overstock.com and has also served as a creative VP for both Smith & Hawken and Macy’s.

As one of her duties, Osselaer will lead the branding and marketing of the chain’s new neighborhood store format that is currently being rolled out.

Kuchinad joined Guess on Feb. 1. His experience also includes senior executive roles at Nike and Starbucks Coffee Co.

Tarshis joined the company on Feb. 13. She most recently served as chief marketing officer for The Hub TV Network, a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro.

As senior VP marketing, Owen will lead REI's advertising, social and emerging media, online and direct marketing, and customer insights efforts. Owen, most recently senior VP merchandising, is replacing Tom Vogl, who left REI to join a technology firm.

True Value said it has named Blake Fohl as its new VP marketing and chief customer officer.

Chicago -- True Value said Tuesday it has named Blake Fohl as its new VP marketing and chief customer officer.

In his new role, Fohl will lead brand strategy; segmentation; national, local and regional marketing; trade shows; and research and analytics. In addition, he will be responsible for the customer loyalty program, circular program and retail customer experience metrics.

According to the study “Mobile Payments & Online Shopping Survey of U.S. Consumers,”  one-third of consumers intend to purchase more online than in-store this holiday shopping season, and three in four have either some or serious concerns about online fraud.
