The Jones Group Inc. said it has appointed Kathy Nedorostek to the newly created position of group president, global footwear and accessories, effective mid-October.

New York -- The Jones Group Inc. said Wednesday it has appointed Kathy Nedorostek to the newly created position of group president, global footwear and accessories, effective mid-October.  

In her new position, Nedorostek will oversee footwear, handbags and jewelry for Jones Group.

Nedorostek arrives at Jones Group from Coach, where she was president of North America Wholesale and Global Licensing.

New York -- The Jones Group said Tuesday that its Nine West banner has launched a new YouTube network called Channel 9 that will feature premium programming and user-generated content.

"What we are creating goes far beyond providing branded content," said Richard Dickson, Jones Group president and CEO. "Channel 9 is a new and innovative first-to-market portal for the footwear and fashion obsessed that will bring brand adjacent content and entertainment to viewers.”

New York — The Jones Group has named George Sharp EVP design, a newly created position. Sharp will report to Stefani Greenfield, chief creative officer, and will work across all brands.

Fourth-quarter revenue totaled $893.6 million, which was in line with analysts' expectations but lower than the company's earlier forecast.

New York City -- Apparel manufacturer and retailer The Jones Group confirmed Tuesday that it is in discussions to divest its jeanswear division for between $350 million to $400 million.

The potential buyer is Israeli clothing maker Delta Galil Industries.

Jones Group, whose brands include Anne Klein and Nine West, said talks should conclude within a month, but cautioned that no deal has been reached. If the two were to reach a deal, Jones said it would use net proceeds for share repurchases.

New York City -- The Jones Group reported Wednesday that second-quarter earnings dropped almost 80% to $5.2 million, compared with $25.7 million in the year-ago period. The retailer and manufacturer, whose brands include Nine West and Anne Klein, cited expenses related to the acquisition of U.K. luxury footwear retailer Kurt Geiger for the poor earnings performance but results still exceeded Wall Street estimates.

Revenue for the quarter increased 3% to $887.4 million, just edging analysts’ expected $887.2 million.

New York City -- The Jones Group has acquired Kurt Geiger, Europe's largest luxury shoe retailer from Graphite Capital, a leading United Kingdom mid-market private equity firm, for approximately $350 million in cash, inclusive of debt acquired.

The acquisition further extends Jones' reach into the designer footwear business through Kurt Geiger's portfolio of high-end brands and presence in leading department stores, such as Harrods and Selfridges.

The Jones Group reported Wednesday that revenues for the fourth quarter rose 12.5% to $874 million, from $777 million in the year-ago period.

New York City -- The Jones Group reported Wednesday that revenues for the fourth quarter rose 12.5% to $874 million, from $777 million in the year-ago period.

The company attributed the fourth quarter performance to the June 2010 acquisition of the Stuart Weitzman business, as well as increases in various business segments.

Jones Group closed 44 retail locations in the fourth quarter to end the year with 803 locations (which includes acquired Stuart Weitzman locations). The company closed 194 locations in 2010.

New York City -- The Jones Group said Thursday that its founder and chairman Sidney Kimmel will serve as non-executive chairman, effective Jan. 1.

The transition from executive chairman will mark the end of the 40th year since Kimmel founded the company, according to Jones Group.
