DSW, Nordstrom Rack and Total Wine & More have leased space at the 1.3 million-sq.-ft. Tempe Marketplace in Tempe, Ariz.

Tempe, Ariz. — DSW, Nordstrom Rack and Total Wine & More have leased space at the 1.3 million-sq.-ft. Tempe Marketplace in Tempe, Ariz.

DSW will open a 20,000-sq.-ft. store in mid April. Nordstrom Rack plans to open a 35,000-sq.-ft. store in October. Total Wine & More, the largest independent fine wine retailer in the country, will occupy 20,000 sq. ft. and plans to open in October.

Vestar developed and owns Tempe Marketplace.

Vestar, owners of the 1.3 million-sq.-ft. Tempe Marketplace, announced that it sold a 2.38-acre parcel on its southwest corner to Chicago hot dogs and beef eatery Portillo’s.

Tempe, Ariz. -- Vestar, owners of the 1.3 million-sq.-ft. Tempe Marketplace, announced that it sold a 2.38-acre parcel on its southwest corner to Chicago hot dogs and beef eatery Portillo’s.

The restaurant is slated to open a 7,000-sq.-ft. location in summer 2013.

Tempe Marketplace features 1.3 million sq. ft. of retail space and more than 100 retail and restaurant tenants.

Vestar Development Co. and Rockwood Capital on Tuesday acquired Tempe Marketplace for $280 million by buying out an original partner.

Phoenix -- Vestar Development Co. and Rockwood Capital on Tuesday acquired Tempe Marketplace for $280 million by buying out an original partner. In conjunction with the closing, Tempe Marketplace received a new $200 million permanent financing package from GACC.

Vestar was the developer of Tempe Marketplace and had previously partnered with DLJ/Credit Suisse. Both Rockwood and Vestar made significant investments in the acquisition. Under terms of the deal, Vestar will be the managing partner.
