Gordmans Stores has named Andrew T. Hall president and CEO, effective Aug. 19.

Omaha, Neb. -- Gordmans Stores has named Andrew T. Hall president and CEO, effective Aug. 19. He also was appointed to the company's board of directors.

Hall, 53, was president and chief executive officer of Stage Stores, from 2008 to 2012 and served as its president and COO from 2006 to 2008. At Gordmans, he succeeds T. Scott King, Gordmans' chairman of the board, who has been serving as interim president and CEO since March 2014.

The three retail brands include Bealls, Goody’s and Peebles with store locations across the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Profits at apparel retailer Stage Stores rose 2% to $32.7 million during the fourth quarter, from $32 million a year earlier.

Houston — Profits at apparel retailer Stage Stores rose 2% to $32.7 million during the fourth quarter, from $32 million a year earlier.

Revenue increased 6% to $479.1 million from $453.7 million, beating Wall Street's $468.2 million forecast.

For the year, Stage Stores reported net income of $31 million, down from $37.6 million in the prior year. Annual revenue climbed 3% to $1.51 billion.

Stage Stores said it will launch a new off-price concept, called Steeleā€™s, to be rolled out in small-town America.

Houston -- Stage Stores said Wednesday it will launch a new off-price concept, called Steele’s, to be rolled out in small-town America.

The first three stores are slated to open on Nov. 1, in Beeville, Texas; Bastrop, La.; and Minden, La.; the company said it plans to open an additional 25 to 35 new Steele’s stores in 2012.
