Belk will open a 75,000-sq.-ft. store in Denham Springs, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge, that will become the first department store anchor at the regional lifestyle center at Juban Crossing.

Denham Springs, La. — Belk will open a 75,000-sq.-ft. store in Denham Springs, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge, that will become the first department store anchor at the regional lifestyle center at Juban Crossing. The grand opening is slated for October 15.

The new, $7-million store will feature the latest retail design and décor for the Charlotte, North Carolina chain.

Nordstrom announced today plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Shops at Knollwood in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Seattle -- Nordstrom announced today plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Shops at Knollwood in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The approximately 33,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open in spring 2015. The property is owned and managed by Rouse Properties Inc.
 
Recently rebranded The Shops at Knollwood, Rouse Properties launched an extensive redevelopment project in an effort to modernize and improve the shopping environment.

Indianapolis – Simon has named retail and real estate executive Stephen Yalof as CEO of premium outlets and senior executive VP of Simon. Yalof has served as senior VP of real estate for Ralph Lauren Corp. since 2002.
 
His 15 years of experience within the retail industry also includes his role as senior director of real estate for Gap. Yalof began his career in real estate at New Plan Realty Trust, and became VP of leasing for their factory outlet business.

The Shops at Mission Viejo, a Simon Property Group property in Mission Viejo, California, has welcomed Kurt Webb as the new general manager.

Mission Viejo, Calif. — The Shops at Mission Viejo, a Simon Property Group property in Mission Viejo, California, has welcomed Kurt Webb as the new general manager. Webb began working with the center in mid-April and recently relocated to the region. He came on full time as of June 1.

Webb will be responsible for local leasing, tenant relations, building operations, security and marketing efforts. Additionally, he will act as a key liaison for various community and strategic organizations.

A new 166,000-sq.-ft. Macy’s and an existing 150,000-sq.-ft. J.C. Penney will anchor the new mall. Forever 21 will join more than 100 retailers at Bay Plaza, including Kay Jewelers, Victoria Secret, H&M and Michael Kors.

Simon Property Group has named Mona Benisi director of sustainability. Benisi’s responsibilities will include advancing and leading all aspects of Simon’s sustainability strategy.

Indianapolis — Simon Property Group has named Mona Benisi director of sustainability. Benisi’s responsibilities will include advancing and leading all aspects of Simon’s sustainability strategy. That strategy includes recycling, water management and renewable energy programs.

Benisi will also lead the company’s sustainability task force, direct and manage measurement and reporting of critical sustainability metrics, including CDP, the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark and GRI.
