Donahue Schriber launches construction on Rocklin Crossings

Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Donahue Schriber announced the start of construction on Rocklin Crossings, a 543,500-sq.-ft. power center located just east of Sacramento, in Rocklin, Calif.

Anchored by Walmart, Rocklin Crossings is one of two sister-shopping centers being developed by Donahue Schriber within the city. Together, they will offer over 900,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurants providing a regional shopping and entertainment destination for Rocklin.

Fresh & Easy makes Sacramento debut

Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market opened its first two stores in the Sacramento region.

Sacramento, Calif. -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market opened its first two stores in the Sacramento region.

Three additional locations are scheduled to open next week on March 14.

In total, Fresh & Easy will open five stores in the region this month, creating more than 150 new jobs.

Walmart expands commitment to solar energy in California

Walmart is taking its commitment to renewable energy to new levels in California.

Sacramento, Calif. -- Walmart is taking its commitment to renewable energy to new levels in California. The chain announced plans to install solar panels on up to 60 additional stores in the Golden State. The initiative, done in partnership with SolarCity, expands the company’s solar portfolio to more than 75% of its locations in California.

Safeway undertakes major store renovation project in San Francisco area

Safeway is embarking on an extensive renovation project to build or extensively revamp 13 stores in the Bay Area, the Sacramento Bee reported.

New York City -- Safeway is embarking on an extensive renovation project to build or extensively revamp 13 stores in the Bay Area, the Sacramento Bee reported.

The company is moving into three former Mervyn's department stores at shopping centers in Pleasant Hill, Campbell and Petaluma.

Gallelli retail team joins Voit firm

In their previous role with Colliers International, The Gallelli Retail Team represented more than 50 Northern California shopping centers, as well as representing more than 25 national retailers, such as Cinemark Theatres, Best Buy, TJX Companies, Costco, Sprouts Farmers Market, Chipotle, and Panera Bread.

Performance Bicycle announces six new store openings

Performance Bicycle, the nation’s largest specialty bike retailer, announced that in April it will open six new stores in four states nationwide.

Chapel Hill, N.C. -- Performance Bicycle, the nation’s largest specialty bike retailer, announced that in April it will open six new stores in four states nationwide.

The expansion includes stores in Sacramento and Berkeley, Calif.; Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin, Texas; Atlanta, and the company’s first ever store in Idaho, in Boise.

These six locations join Performance Bicycle’s 94 existing stores.
