Electronics retailer Hhgregg is opening a new store location at the Dayton Mall in Dayton, Ohio, on May 16.

Indianapolis – Electronics retailer Hhgregg is opening a new store location at the Dayton Mall in Dayton, Ohio, on May 16. The new 23,000-sq.-ft. store will replace a previous location in West Carrollton, Ohio.

“Hhgregg is dedicated to the Dayton community and we think local residents will really enjoy shopping at our new and modern store,” said Jeff Pearson, senior VP of marketing, Hhgregg.

Fuller joined Marcus & Millichap in June 2008. He specializes in the sale of both multi-tenant and single-tenant net-leased retail investment properties throughout the Midwest with a special focus on Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The Glimcher Realty Trust pipeline is filled with open-air centers. "We're seeing a lot of opportunity in the market and even our own portfolio with open-air right now," said Michael P. Glimcher, chairman and CEO, Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher.

Over the last three years, Glimcher has acquired five properties. Four were open-air. Today, open-air centers account for about 20% of the company's 29 properties.

Von Maur got its start like many of its department store peers: An immigrant with an American dream opened a downtown store, customers came, they shopped, the brand took hold and took off.

In the case of the midwestern upscale department store banner Von Maur, the dreamer was German immigrant J.H.C. Petersen, who opened a downtown storefront in Davenport, Iowa, in 1872. He and his sons grew the business and sold it nearly a half-century later to a partnership that included two Austrian brothers — C.J. and Cable von Maur, whose family gained full ownership by 1937.

Impressions founder, president and CEO Rick Gerber and MIS director Terry Phillips will assume key management roles with the new division, with specifics still to be determined. Dave Mueller, executive VP and general manager of idX Dayton, will also assume a management role in the division, in addition to his current responsibilities.

Fredericksburg, Va. -- Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Co. said that J. Jill will open a new store at Spotsylvania Towne Centre. The 3,700-sq.-ft. location is slated to open in July at The Village at Towne Centre, between Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and Cache.  

J. Jill will join The Buckle, opening April 25, and Chico’s, which is expected to open May 1.
