Mexico's Grupo Gigante expects to raise up to 4.954 billion pesos ($374.14 million) in its initial public offering of Office Depot de Mexico shares, Reuters reported.

New York -- Mexico's Grupo Gigante expects to raise up to 4.954 billion pesos ($374.14 million) in its initial public offering of Office Depot de Mexico shares, Reuters reported.

The company plans to sell up to 291 million shares, local filings revealed.

The listing is provisionally set to price on Feb. 5, the report said.

In June, Grupo Gigante, acquired the 50% stake in the office supplies chain that it did not already own.

On Tuesday, Mexican retail company Grupo Gigante said in a regulatory filing that it will list shares in Office Depot de Mexico, the local division of the U.S. office-supply chain it purchased last year.

Office Depot largest shareholder Starboard Value said it sent a letter to the office supply retailer’s board, urging it to sell its 50% joint-venture interest in the Office Depot de Mexico business as soon as possible.

Boca Raton, Fla. -- Office Depot largest shareholder Starboard Value said Wednesday it sent a letter to the office supply retailer’s board, urging it to sell its 50% joint-venture interest in the Office Depot de Mexico business as soon as possible.

Starboard, which owns a 14.8% stake in Office Depot, said it believes the value of the JV interest is not fully reflected in the retailer's stock price.
