Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has selected NCR Corp. to install NCR point-of-sale software and technology in its more than 300 locations across 39 states.

Duluth, Ga. -- Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has selected NCR Corp. to install NCR point-of-sale software and technology in its more than 300 locations across 39 states.

Traditionally, Love’s has replaced a quarter of their POS devices each year. But the retailer decided a complete refresh of 1,800 devices to solid state technology with greater processing power and screen size, gives them an immediate ability to create a better customer experience across their footprint.

NCR Corp. announced that it will be installing 10,000 SelfServ Checkout lanes to more than 1,200 Walmart locations in the United States during 2013.

Coinstar Inc. said it has completed its $100 million acquisition of DVD rental kiosks and other assets from rival NCR Corp.

Bellevue, Wash. -- Coinstar Inc. said Monday it has completed its $100 million acquisition of DVD rental kiosks and other assets from rival NCR Corp.
 
Under the terms of the deal, Coinstar will buy products and services from NCR. According to Coinstar, the addition of the kiosks will allow its Redbox DVD rental kiosks to expand to new retail partners.

NCR Corp. announced that the company’s point-of-sale terminals will now be the preferred checkout technology at Springdale, Ark.-based Harp’s Food Stores, an employee-owned company, which operates 66-plus grocery stores in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

NCR’s RealPOS 60 checkout terminals will be used in all new Harp’s stores and will replace checkout equipment at 10 existing Harp’s stores. The grocer chose the NCR technology due to its high serviceability, compact size and price-to-performance ratio.
