South Elgin, Ill. -- Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based Mid-America Asset Management Inc. announced that Shoe Carnival recently leased 10,072 sq. ft. at Shops at South Elgin in Chicago’s west suburbs.

The retailer plans to open in spring 2013 in the 164,502-sq.-ft. shopping center. Shoe Carnival is taking space formerly occupied by Famous Footwear and joins Kohl’s, T.J. Maxx, Pier 1 Imports, Petco and the newly expanded Fruitful Yield Health Foods.

The privately held health club is slated to open in early 2013. 

The Broadway at Surf is a 134,223-sq.-ft. multi-level urban retail center anchored by Walmart Neighborhood Market (coming soon), Bed Bath & Beyond and T.J.Maxx.

Mid-America Asset Management Inc. said it has signed eight restaurant leases Greater Chicagoland shopping centers that the company represents.

Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. -- Mid-America Asset Management Inc. said it has signed eight restaurant leases Greater Chicagoland shopping centers that the company represents. The leases total more than 42,000 sq. ft.

For Dempster Plaza in Niles, Ill., Mid-America leased 9,600 sq. ft. to Asia restaurant Niles Buffet, which will open in a former Old Country Buffet space in March 2013. The 180,000-sq.-ft. center is anchored by Home Depot, Portillo's and Jewel/Osco.

The new store is slated to open in the fall.

Burbank Station is a 303,566-sq.-ft. suburban retail center anchored by Food 4 Less, Sports Authority, Babies “R” Us, Office Max, PetSmart and HomeGoods.
