Wilmington, Del. -- DuPont Refrigerants urges HVACR industry members to be aware of potential counterfeit and illegally imported refrigerant products, with particular attention to R-22 and R-438A. R-438A is a patented product from DuPont, sold as DuPont ISCEON® MO99 refrigerant.

Baltimore -- Danfloss,  a manufacturer of high-efficiency electronic and mechanical components and controls for air-conditioning, heating, refrigeration and motion systems, and provider of energy management and control solutions for the food retail industry, was chosen by Supervalue to provide a range of energy-saving products and support for a remodel project that has resulted in the development of the company’s first grocery store operating 100%  on natural refrigerants.

New York -- The Los Angeles City Council voted 13-1 to ban plastic bags at supermarket checkouts, becoming the largest city in the nation to approve such a law.

The council voted to phase out plastic bags during the next 16 months at an estimated 7,500 stores, meaning shoppers will need to bring reusable bags or purchase paper bags for 10 cents each.

New York City -- Barnes & Noble said its CFO Joseph Lombardi has resigned and the company is starting a search to replace him. Lombardi will stay on with the company until mid-2012 to assist in the transition as the company undertakes an executive search for a new CFO.

Corporate controller Allen Lindstrom will take over CFO duties until a replacement is named.
 

Dallas -- Lennox International, a leader in the heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration markets announced it has signed a definitive agreement with The Manitowoc Co. to acquire substantially all the assets of its Kysor/Warren business.

Kysor/Warren is a leading manufacturer of refrigerated systems and display cases for supermarkets throughout North America.
