Over half (54%) of respondents cited digital strategy for mobile/digital platforms as top of mind for their business during the next 12 months.

Thirty-one percent of survey respondents said they won't be shopping for any back-to-school products at all, up from 27.7% last year, according to research published by The Integer Group.

Denver -- Thirty-one percent of survey respondents said they won't be shopping for any back-to-school products at all, up from 27.7% last year, according to research published by The Integer Group. The results were in the latest issue of “The Checkout, an ongoing shopper behavior study conducted by Integer and M/A/R/C Research.

With fewer people shopping, certain channels will see a drop in traffic. Integer predicts that mass, clothing, and drug will take the largest hit, losing 2.3%, 3.2%, and 5.5% of shoppers this year compared to last.

Americans are frustrated with the state of customer service, according to a new survey by Consumer Reports magazine.

Yonkers, N.Y. -- Americans are frustrated with the state of customer service, according to a new survey by Consumer Reports magazine. In the survey, 65% of the respondents said they are "tremendously annoyed" by rude salespeople and 64% said that they had left a store in the previous 12 months because of poor service.

Consumer Reports also found that 71% of survey respondents were extremely irritated when they couldn't reach a human on the phone.

A survey released Wednesday by Deloitte found that 66% of consumers say their financial situation is the same or better compared to this time a year ago, and 62% plan to spend the same or more on the holidays.

New York City -- A survey released Wednesday by Deloitte found that 66% of consumers say their financial situation is the same or better compared to this time a year ago, and 62% plan to spend the same or more on the holidays.

According to Deloitte’s 25th Annual Holiday Survey, which polls consumer spending intentions and trends, not all consumers have such a rosy outlook. Half (50%) of consumers feel the economy is either in a recession or heading back into one.
