City Sports announced that it will open its 22nd retail location in New York City, on March 26.

Boston -- City Sports announced that it will open its 22nd retail location in New York City, on March 26. It will be City Sports' third location in New York City.

The new store, in the city’s financial district, will be the company’s largest retail location to date, with nearly 11,000 sq. ft. of selling space devoted to athletic apparel, footwear and equipment.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be opening a third retail location in New York City," said City Sports president and CEO Edward Albertian.

Located across from Barney’s, the location will join Vince Camuto’s two existing stores in Manhattan, along with its upcoming location in the Flatiron district.

RKF said it has arranged a 2,100-sq.-ft. lease for GNC at 302 Canal Street in downtown Manhattan.

New York -- RKF said it has arranged a 2,100-sq.-ft. lease for GNC at 302 Canal Street in downtown Manhattan.

The new store, which will consist of 1,050 sq. ft. on both the ground floor and basement of the building, is located less than one block east of Broadway near Mercer Street.  It will become GNC’s 47th Manhattan location when it officially opens this spring.

With this latest lease transaction, RKF has arranged five retail leases in New York City on behalf of GNC.

New York -- Winick Realty Group said Tuesday it has been appointed the exclusive broker for Desi Shack, a fast-casual South Asian restaurant concept with one current location in Midtown East.

Desi Shack plans to open two more locations within the next 12 months, seeking sites measuring 600 sq. ft. to 1,500 sq. ft. in the Financial District, Midtown East, Midtown West, Flatiron, Union Square, the Upper East Side and the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Consignment chain Second Time Around (STA) announced it is opening three more stores in Manhattan this October, all on the city’s Upper East Side.

NEW YORK -- Consignment chain Second Time Around (STA) announced it is opening three more stores in Manhattan this October, all on the city’s Upper East Side.   

The new locations will bring the company to 36 stores nationwide, with the figure expected to grow to 40 by year end.

Austin, Texas -- Whole Foods Market has announced two new locations for Manhattan. The company said it plans to open a 39,000-sq.ft. store in the city’s Harlem neighborhood in 2015. The supermarket will be located in the middle of the area’s business district, on 125th Street and Lennox Avenue.

New York -- H&M will open its largest store in the world, on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, Women’s Wear Daily reported.

The company will open a six-level, 57,000-sq.-ft. store on Fifth Avenue at the corner of 48th Street sometime next year, according to the report.

Reebok has opened its first Reebok Fit Hub in the United States, on Fifth Avenue at 37th Street in Manhattan.

New York -- Reebok has opened its first Reebok Fit Hub in the United States, on Fifth Avenue at 37th Street in Manhattan.

The 2,500-sq.-ft. store is located on the top of a Reebok CrossFit Box gym, which is on the street level. It sells a wide range of fitness apparel and footwear for men and women. Customers can also get fitness advice from in-store experts.

Designed by Reebok’s global environmental design division based on a concept by Ziba, Portland, Ore., Fit Hub has a raw, industrial look, with an exposed ceiling.

Macy’s Inc. is rolling out a new order fulfillment system that lays the groundwork for same-day delivery services by leveraging the proximity of its physical store locations to its customers, according to a report on the Huffington Post.

New York -- Macy’s Inc. is rolling out a new order fulfillment system that lays the groundwork for same-day delivery services by leveraging the proximity of its physical store locations to its customers, according to a report on the Huffington Post.

To date, 280 stores have been outfitted to provide shipping services.

Online retail giants Amazon and eBay are moving in the same direction, the report said.

An affiliate of Manhattan-based real estate company JEMB Realty Corp. has agreed to purchase the leases and certain intellectual assets of Daffy’s Inc. for $43 million, Bloomberg reported.

New York -- An affiliate of Manhattan-based real estate company JEMB Realty Corp. has agreed to purchase the leases and certain intellectual assets of Daffy’s Inc. for $43 million, Bloomberg reported. The deal is subject to bankruptcy court approval.

Daffy’s filed for Chapter 11 protection listing assets of $60.2 million and debt of $70.5 million as of July 1. The chain operates 19 stores, with the majority in the New York City metro area.

New York -- Analysts expected 18 top retail chains to report a modest gains in June, as high unemployment and falling consumer confidence have taken a toll on spending.

Among the department store retailers reporting June same-store results so far, the results were largely mixed. Macy’s was among the retailers reporting sales that fell short of estimates. Same-store sales rose 1.2% in June, missing Wall Street’s projected 1.9% gain.
