Macerich to acquire Kings Plaza and Green Acres Mall

The Macerich Co. announced plans to acquire Kings Plaza, located in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Green Acres Mall, located in Valley Stream, N.Y., on the border of New York City and Nassau County.

Santa Monica, Calif. -- The Macerich Co. announced on Monday plans to acquire Kings Plaza, located in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Green Acres Mall, located in Valley Stream, N.Y., on the border of New York City and Nassau County. 

Kings Plaza is being acquired from a subsidiary of Alexander's for $751 million, with a closing date set for late 2012. Green Acres is being acquired from a subsidiary of Vornado Realty Trust for $500 million, with a first quarter 2013 closing date.

Nordstrom Rack to open third Long Island location

Nordstrom plans to open a Nordstrom Rack on Long Island, N.Y., at Manhasset Center, which is owned and operated by Kimco Realty Corp.

Seattle -- Nordstrom plans to open a Nordstrom Rack on Long Island, N.Y., at Manhasset Center, which is owned and operated by Kimco Realty Corp.

The approximately 32,000-sq.-ft. store will be the retailer's third Nordstrom Rack location on Long Island and is scheduled to open in Fall 2013.

The new two-level Nordstrom Rack will move into the former Filene's Basement location at Manhasset Center and will occupy space on both the ground and second level.

Trio of new tenants to open at Lake Shore Plaza

Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that it has added three new tenants, totaling 11, 501 sq. ft., to the Lake Shore Plaza II Shopping Center, located in Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y. -- Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that it has added three new tenants, totaling 11, 501 sq. ft., to the Lake Shore Plaza II Shopping Center, located in Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

AutoZone has leased 7,184 sq. ft., Verizon leased 1,817 sq. ft., and Century 21 leased 2,500 sq. ft.
