1960s-era The Boulevard Mall will receive a $25 million makeover in hopes of prompting an overall redevelopment of the Maryland Parkway corridor of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas -- 1960s-era The Boulevard Mall will receive a $25 million makeover in hopes of prompting an overall redevelopment of the Maryland Parkway corridor of Las Vegas.

The rehab, to be launched by owner Sansone Cos., which acquired the mall last December for $54.5 million, will be the property’s first major renovation in more than two decades. Sansone is looking at the renovation of the Boulevard as a catalyst in the overall redevelopment effort of the Maryland Parkway corridor.

Ramsey Real Estate Group has announced the commencement of a $600,000 renovation to Decatur Inn Plaza in Las Vegas.

La Jolla, Calif. — Ramsey Real Estate Group has announced the commencement of a $600,000 renovation to Decatur Inn Plaza in Las Vegas. The renovation will include new storefronts, design elements, exterior finishes, building systems, landscaping and parking lot work. Vacant suites will receive vanilla shell treatments. Structural elements will be repaired and replaced. The renovations will also include rebuilding the property’s monument sign. Existing businesses will remain open during the renovation.

The award recognizes people under the age of 40 who are making an impact in retail real estate – whether from the tenant (retail) or the landlord (shopping center company) side.

99¢ Only Stores will open a new 20,000-sq.-ft. Las Vegas location on Jan. 23.

City of Commerce, Calif. — 99¢ Only Stores will open a new 20,000-sq.-ft. Las Vegas location on Jan. 23. The new store will feature a perishable food department, with produce, dairy and frozen foods.

The new store will kick off its grand opening celebration by selling Westinghouse 40-in. flat-screen TVs for only 99 cents to the first nine customers in line. In addition, anyone in line by 7:45 a.m. will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win the tenth Westinghouse 40-in. flat-screen TV.

Beverly Hills, Calif. — Quantum Capital Partners, a real estate finance and advisory firm, has arranged two new loans to refinance two retail properties in Las Vegas for a private investor.

A $1.04 million loan will refinance the 12,000-sq.-ft. El Mercado, an L-shaped retail center in east Las Vegas, and a $1.19 million loan will refinance Wigwam, a 10,300-sq.-ft. strip center about four miles south of the Las Vegas Strip.

Weehawken, N.J. — The Swatch Group Ltd. has announced the expansion of its Tourbillon Boutique network into Seattle, Dallas and Las Vegas.

The Seattle location, in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, features The Swatch Group Service Center. In Dallas, Tourbillon Boutique will open its first Texas location at NorthPark Center. In Las Vegas, the boutique will relocate to a 3,800-sq.-ft. space in The Shops at Crystals.

Expansion was the talk of the aisles in the Las Vegas convention center, as the International Council of Shopping Centers hosted its annual RECon global real estate convention May 19-22.

"We never really had a downturn," said Stephen Gallant, VP facilities development with Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, in the Women's Special Interest Group presentation "Retail: The Next Wave."

"We opened an average of 50 stores a year during the recession, and are continuing to gather strength in the more recent months and years," he noted.

Burger King Worldwide announced that it has expanded its meal delivery program to include Las Vegas and Sacramento, Calif.

Miami -- Burger King Worldwide announced Thursday that it has expanded its meal delivery program to include Las Vegas and Sacramento, Calif.

The BK Delivers program, which currently delivers meals to homes and offices in New York, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., will now have six participating restaurants in Sacramento and eight more in Las Vegas implementing the service.
