Nashville, Tenn. -- Kirkland's announced  that Todd Weier, senior VP of logistics, plans to leave the company.

"I believe that it is the right time for my departure and that my mission in the company has been largely accomplished," said Todd Weier. "I am proud of our team's many achievements over the years and the logistics infrastructure we've established."

Kirkland's announced that Robert Alderson, the home decor retailer's long-time president and CEO, intends to retire at the end of fiscal 2013, or approximately Feb. 1, 2014.

Nashville, Tenn. -- Kirkland's announced that Robert Alderson, the home decor retailer's long-time president and CEO, intends to retire at the end of fiscal 2013, or approximately Feb. 1, 2014.  

In November, Kirkland's said that Alderson was taking a temporary medical leave of absence for six to eight weeks for a non-emergency medical procedure. Mike Madden, Kirkland's SVP and CFO, served as acting president and CEO during that time.

Kirkland's Inc. lost $416,000 for the period ended Oct. 27, compared with a profit of $1.2 million a year earlier.

Nashville, Tenn. -- Kirkland's Inc. lost $416,000 for the period ended Oct. 27, compared with a profit of $1.2 million a year earlier. Analysts had predicted a bigger loss.

Revenue inched down to $96.7 million from $97.1 million. Same-store sales were down 4.7%.

Kirkland's also announced that president and CEO Robert Alderson is taking a temporary medical leave of absence, starting on Monday. SVP and CFO Mike Madden will serve as acting president and CEO until Alderson returns.

Nashville, Tenn. -- Kirkland's first-quarter profit dropped 38% amid promotions and price cuts. The company also issued disappointing predictions for the current quarter and full year.

Kirkland’s said it earned $2 million for the quarter ended April 28, down from $3.2 million last year.

Sales rose 3.6% to $97.8 million from $94.4 million. Same-store sales edged down 1.2%.

The home décor chain said it increased marketing to counter a drop in sales.

Kirkland's Inc. raised its third-quarter earnings outlook Thursday after total revenue rose because of store expansion.

Nashville, Tenn. -- Kirkland's Inc. raised its third-quarter earnings outlook Thursday after total revenue rose because of store expansion.

Total revenue rose 4.7% to $97.1 million in the August-to-October period. Same-store sales fell 3.6%.

The home-decor store said it now expects earnings of 3 cents to 5 cents per share, up from its previous prediction of a quarterly loss.

Nashville, Tenn. — Kirkland's Inc. said Thursday that its fourth-quarter profit fell about 35% as its sales softened.

The company reported net income of $14.4 million for the 13 weeks that ended Jan. 29, compared with $22.1 million a year earlier.

The results included an $800,000 income tax benefit related to prior years' taxes.

Quarterly net sales fell to $139.6 million, from $142.8 million in the prior-year period. Same-store sales were down 7.95%.
