Richfield, Minn. -- Hubert Joly, president and CEO of Best Buy Co., Inc., exercised and sold 350,467 stock options and sold 100,686 shares of company stock on Sept. 6. Joly sold the stock due to circumstances relating to his divorce that was concluded in June of this year.

“As reflected in the Form 4, Joly's holdings remain substantially in excess of his 140,000 share ownership target under the company's executive stock ownership guidelines following the reported transaction,” Best Buy said in a press release.

The CEO of Best Buy, Hubert Joly, earned compensation worth $19.6 million in his five months on the job in 2012, the Associated Press reported.

New York -- The CEO of Best Buy, Hubert Joly, earned compensation worth $19.6 million in his five months on the job in 2012, the Associated Press reported.  

Joly, a turnaround expert, took the reins of the chain in September. Former CEO Brian Dunn left in April when a board investigation found that Dunn violated company policy by having a "close personal relationship" with a female staffer. Board member Mike Mikan, one of Best Buy’s board members, served as temporary CEO before Joly was hired.

Minneapolis -- Best Buy on Wednesday announced major changes to its leadership organization. The company is removing the senior-most layer of the U.S. operation is being removed; resulting in what it called “a leaner structure intended to improve the company’s agility.”

A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that Best Buy Inc. CEO Hubert Joly has sold $1.19 million worth of shares of common stock of the company.

Minneapolis -- A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that Best Buy Inc. CEO Hubert Joly has sold $1.19 million worth of shares of common stock of the company.
 
Joly sold 65,796 shares at a price of $18.02 per share, according to the SEC filing. According to Best Buy, the stock sale was made to cover taxes associated with stock grants.

Best Buy Co. reported that profit for the second quarter tumbled 91% to $12 million, compared with $128 million in the year-ago period.

Minneapolis -- Best Buy Co. reported Tuesday that profit for the second quarter tumbled 91% to $12 million, compared with $128 million in the year-ago period. Revenue declined nearly 3% to $10.55 billion, missing Wall Street’s estimated $10.65 billion in revenue. Same-store sales fell 3.2% overall, more than the 2.6% drop expected by analysts.

Best Buy Co. has named Hubert Joly, the former chief executive of global hospitality company Carlson, as the chain's new CEO and president.

Minneapolis -- Best Buy Co. has named Hubert Joly, the former chief executive of global hospitality company Carlson, as the chain's new CEO and president. Carlson, which operates such businesses as Radisson and T.G.I Friday's, announced Sunday that Joly resigned from that company.
