Inland Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. has purchased the 187,610-square-foot Dogwood Festival Shopping Center located in Flowood, Mississippi, approximately 10 miles northeast of Jackson, Mississippi.

Flowood, Miss. — Inland Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. has purchased the 187,610-square-foot Dogwood Festival Shopping Center located in Flowood, Mississippi, approximately 10 miles northeast of Jackson, Mississippi.

Constructed in 2002, the center is 97.8% leased to 36 tenants, including T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Old Navy, Gap, Men’s Wearhouse, Hibbett Sports and several other national tenants. The property is shadow-anchored by Belk, an upscale department store, which was not acquired.

HomeGoods has signed a long-term lease with The Shoppes at Flemington in Flemington, N.J., and is open and operating in a 22,000-sq.-ft. building that came as part of the deal.

Levin also served as the construction manager for the development of the new retail space and managed the land development approvals.

TJX reported that its fiscal second-quarter net income rose a better-than-expected 14%. The off-price retailer also increased its profit outlook for the year.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — TJX Cos. reported that its fiscal second-quarter net income rose a better-than-expected 14%. The off-price retailer also increased its profit outlook for the year.

The company earned $479.6 million for the quarter, which ended on Aug. 3, up from $421.1 million in the same quarter last year.

Construction has already begun on the 44,750-sq.-ft. space accommodating the two new stores, which will be located adjacent to one another, each with a separate store entrance. The Shops at La Palmera store marks T.J. Maxx’s first in Corpus Christi. HomeGoods is new to market also.

Portsmouth, N.H. -- Boston-based The Wilder Cos. said that Guitar Center will open a 7,358-sq.-ft. store at Durgin Square in Portsmouth, N.H. The new store will host a grand opening on Sept. 27.

Durgin Square is tenanted by TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Shaw’s.

Wilder Cos. is the management company for the shopping center.

Simsbury, Conn. -- Charter Realty & Development said it has leased 23,500 sq. ft. to HomeGoods in Simsbury, Conn.

HomeGoods, a TJX banner, will be opening in Simsbury Commons Shopping Center in a former Borders location, joining Stop & Shop, Bed Bath & Beyond, Hoyt Cinema and Bob’s Store.

The 256,497-sq.-ft. center is owned by Columbia, S.C.-based EDENS.

Charter Realty & Development represents TJX Cos., including HomeGoods, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, throughout the eastern half of the United States.

MacMillan, who has been in charge of the company’s largest division comprised of T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, will now be senior executive VP of TJX Europe. MacMillan replaces Paul Sweetenham, who recently resigned.

The current president of HomeGoods, Richard Sherr, will return to Marmaxx Group as senior executive VP.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers announced that it has leased nearly 39,000 sq. ft. of retail space in Granada Hills, Calif., at Granada Village to two additional anchors, HomeGoods and Petco.

HomeGoods has leased 27,500 sq. ft. and is slated to open in spring 2012. This is the first store in the market for this home furnishings retailer with the next closest location eight miles away.

Petco is scheduled to open in 11,350 sq. ft. this fall.

TJX Cos. reported a 15% drop in fourth-quarter earnings, dragged down by costs to close its A.J. Wright store division.

Framingham, Mass. -- TJX Cos. reported a 15% drop in fourth-quarter earnings, dragged down by costs to close its A.J. Wright store division. The company also plans to repurchase $1.2 billion of its stock this fiscal year and raise its dividend.

The retailer earned $334.4 million in the three months ended Jan. 29, compared with $394.9 million in the same period last year.

Revenue rose 6.5% to $6.33 billion. Same-store sales were up 2% over the prior year’s strong 12% increase.

Meyrowitz will now have Herrman and Jeffrey Naylor, senior executive VP CFO and chief administrative officer, reporting to her.

TJX Cos. said Friday it will close its A.J. Wright discount stores by mid-February, cutting 4,400 jobs.

Framingham, Mass. -- TJX Cos. said Friday it will close its A.J. Wright discount stores by mid-February, cutting 4,400 jobs. The move comes as the company’s T.J. Maxx and Marshalls chains have become better at attracting the lower-income customers that A.J. Wright targeted.

Ninety-one A.J. Wright stores will be converted into T.J. Maxx, Marshalls or HomeGoods stores, and 71 stores and two DC’s will close entirely. About 3,400 employees will keep their jobs and another 4,400 – half part-time and half full-time – will be cut.

The TJX Cos.' fiscal third-quarter earnings rose 7%, topping its own forecasts, as the discount retailer's sales improved.

Framingham, Mass. -- The TJX Cos.' fiscal third-quarter earnings rose 7%, topping its own forecasts, as the discount retailer's sales improved.

The company reported a better-than-expected profit of $372.3 million, up from $347.8 million in the year-ago period. Net sales rose 5% to $5.53 billion, from $5.24 billion. Same-store sales increased 1%.
