The lease signing brings the Mercer County retail destination to 100% occupancy.

Planet Fitness will open an 18,000-sq.-ft. facility at 100 Hamilton Plaza in Paterson, New Jersey, the facility will occupy the first-floor retail space in the 175,000-sq.-ft. downtown office tower.

Cushman & Wakefield’s East Rutherford, N.J., office represented the building’s owner, Mountain Development Corp. in the transaction. Ripco Real Estate represented the Planet Fitness franchisee, who operates several other regional locations.

North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that Petco will open a store at Hamilton Plaza, located in Hamilton Township, N.J.

The pet supply retailer leased 13,640 sq. ft. at the 175,515-sq.-ft. center which is anchored by ShopRite and A.C. Moore. Other tenants include Sleepy’s, Dollar Tree, Hallmark, New Wave Wireless, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Texas Roadhouse.

Levin Management, which serves as the property’s leasing and managing agent, credits a multi-million-dollar renovation, completed less than one year ago, for enhancing its appeal and occupancy.

The renovation of the 184,272-sq.-ft. center, located in Hamilton Twp., N.J., includes significant upgrades to the common areas, and the addition of two pad sites and a 10,000-sq.-ft. end cap.
