Fast Retailing Co.’s Comptoir des Cotonniers division has launched “Fast Shopping,” which allows European shoppers to purchase items in 20 seconds on their mobile devices via an application from Powa Technologies, London. Shoppers using the PowaTag app can scan items they see on ads in various places to make the purchase and with one click, complete the transaction and have the goods delivered to their home within 48 hours.

Uniqlo will continue its expansion in the United States by entering the Los Angeles market.

New York -- Uniqlo will continue its expansion in the United States by entering the Los Angeles market. The Japanese retail powerhouse announced it will open five stores in the Los Angeles area, starting in September, with locations at South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa; Northridge Fashion Center, Northridge; and Glendale Galleria, Glendale.

In October, the company will open at the Beverly Center, Los Angeles, followed by a store at Los Cerritos Center, Cerritos, in spring 2015.

Uniqlo is expanding into Southern California. The Japanese apparel retailer will open its first stores in the region this fall, at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles and South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa, Calif. — Uniqlo is expanding into Southern California. The Japanese apparel retailer will open its first stores in the region this fall, at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles and South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

Uniqlo announced announced it will an additional location in Northern California, at the Sunvalley Shopping Center in Concord. Also in the works: a store at Stamford Town Center, Stamford, Conn.
 
The retailer, owned by Japanese holding company Fast Retailing Co., currently has 17 stores in the United States.

Meyer left his post as executive VP of Forever 21 to join Uniqlo in January 2013 as COO. Prior to Forever 21, he served as CFO of Gymboree.

In his new role, Meyer will oversee the day-to-day operations of Uniqlo and hold responsibility for the ongoing development of the company’s retail footprint in the USA.

Fast Retailing Co. will open 10 more Uniqlo stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and California this fall, bringing the brand’s presence in the U.S. to 17 stores, plus the online shopping platform Uniqlo.com that opened in October of 2012.

On Wednesday, the company announced that Uniqlo will continue its U.S. expansion strategy by opening two new mall locations in New York.

The company has raised its annual profit forecast.

At 24,000 total sq. ft., the Uniqlo store in Palisades Center will open in early March. (Palisades Center is the eighth largest mall in the nation.)

"By opening this e-commerce site now, we are able to cater to customers across the United States," said Uniqlo USA CEO Shin Odake in the Bloomberg report.

Uniqlo currently has five U.S. locations, including new sites in San Francisco and New Jersey, along with its other three in Manhattan.

The company lifted its full-year profit forecast to $1.7 billion from a previously announced $1.6 billion for the fiscal year ending in August, surpassing analysts’ projections.

Redmond, Wash. -- PlayNetwork said Thursday it has completed the audio/visual installation at Uniqlo’s new global 89,000-sq.-ft. flagship store on Fifth Ave. in New York City, the retailer’s largest store to date.

The installation features more than 300 LCD video displays and 175 audio speakers, providing a full digital media experience. Custom LED video installations in the glass elevators and storefront windows and LED “tunnel ticker” displays were developed by PlayNetwork in conjunction with partner D3 LED.

The new store, on 34th Street, set to open this fall, following the opening of the chain’s largest flagship location on Fifth Avenue earlier in the fall. Both stores will join the current Uniqlo location in Manhattan’s Soho district.
