Haggar Clothing Co. has hired Eve Richey as chief digital officer, effective Sept. 15.

Dallas – Haggar Clothing Co. has hired Eve Richey as chief digital officer, effective Sept. 15. Richey, formerly VP of global digital marketing for Toms Shoes, will be responsible for creating a seamless approach to the consumer experience across a variety of shopping channels.

Richey will report directly to Michael Stitt, CEO of Haggar Clothing Co. She brings more than 14 years of experience developing and executing digital omnichannel strategies and implementing e-commerce solutions for brands such as Toms Shoes and Dell.

Beleaguered consumer electronics chain RadioShack Corp. said is in talks with an unidentified “major vendor” about modifying a commercial agreement in a way that could benefit a financial restructuring.

Fort Worth, Texas – Beleaguered consumer electronics chain RadioShack Corp. said is in talks with an unidentified “major vendor” about modifying a commercial agreement in a way that could benefit a financial restructuring. But the retailer said there can be no assurances" that talks will prove fruitful.

RadioShack announced the ongoing discussions in a Sept. 22 regulatory filing.

Fairway Group Holdings Corp. has named Jack Murphy, a veteran retail executive with strong experience in specialty food retailing, as CEO.

New York -- Fairway Group Holdings Corp. has named Jack Murphy, a veteran retail executive with strong experience in specialty food retailing, as CEO.

Murphy was a co-founder of natural foods grocer Fresh Fields, which was sold to Whole Foods Market. Most recently he served as CEO of Earth Fare, an organics and natural food chain with locations in the Southeast and Midwest.

GNC Holdings named Jeffrey R. Hennion as executive VP, chief marketing and e-commerce officer.

Pittsburgh -- GNC Holdings named Jeffrey R. Hennion as executive VP, chief marketing and e-commerce officer. Hennion most recently served as president and CFO of mobile commerce provider Branding Build.

Prior to Branding Brand, Hennion led GNC's marketing and e-commerce efforts in 2011 and 2012.  He also spent 10 years with Dick's Sporting Goods in a number of senior leadership roles, including executive VP, chief marketing officer and head of e-commerce.

Boston -- Gordon Brothers Group, a global advisory, restructuring and investment firm specializing in the retail, consumer products, industrial and real estate sectors, appointed Kenneth S. Frieze as CEO, effective Oct. 1.

Frieze has over 20 years of leadership experience in restructuring, consulting, brand redevelopment, appraisal and asset disposition. He has held various roles at the firm since 2003, serving most recently as president.

Brookstone said its president and CEO, James M. Speltz, has resigned.

New York -- Brookstone said its president and CEO, James M. Speltz, has resigned. The specialty retailer appointed Steve Schwartz, the company's chief merchandising officer, to serve as interim president and CEO.

Speltz helped Brookstone emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in June. Also in June,  a bankruptcy court judge approved its sale to to a consortium of Chinese investors, Sailing Innovation Inc., for $135.7 million.

Build-A-Bear Workshop announced the appointment of Voin Todorovic as the company’s new CFO, effective Sept. 15.

St. Louis -- Build-A-Bear Workshop announced the appointment of Voin Todorovic as the company’s new CFO, effective Sept. 15. He assumes CFO responsibilities at Build-A-Bear Workshop from Tina Klocke, who had been serving as both the company’s CFO and COO. Klocke is leaving to pursue her interests in the not-for-profit business sector. She will remain with the retailer through first quarter 2015 and will retain her position as COO during this time.

Dick's Sporting Goods disclosed in a regulatory filing that Joseph Schmidt is retiring as president and COO of the retailer, a role he has held since 2009, at year-end.

New York -- The hunt is on for a new president and COO at Dick's Sporting Goods. Dick’s disclosed in a regulatory filing that Joseph Schmidt is retiring as president and COO of the retailer, a role he has held since 2009, at year-end. In other changes, John Duken, executive VP of global merchandising since 2012, plans to retire, effective at the end of November.

Washington Prime Group announced Tuesday it will acquire shopping center REIT Glimcher Realty Trust in a deal worth $4.3 billion.

Columbus, Ohio -- Washington Prime Group announced Tuesday it will acquire shopping center REIT Glimcher Realty Trust in a deal worth $4.3 billion.

Washington Prime Group, a Bethesda, Maryland-based REIT, and Glimcher will combine under a new name WP Glimcher, with headquarters remaining in the current Glimcher offices in Columbus, Ohio.

The newly combined company will remain publicly traded.

Men's Wearhouse has named Mary Beth Blake as the company's president and chief merchandising officer, effective Sept. 10.

Fremont, Calif. -- Men's Wearhouse has named Mary Beth Blake as the company's president and chief merchandising officer, effective Sept. 10. She was previously executive VP and chief merchandising officer.

From 2013 to 2014, Blake was executive VP and chief merchandising officer and from 2008 to 2013 she was the president of K&G.

Before joining K&G, she was with Macy's Midwest Division as senior VP, general merchandise manager for men's and children's.

John Feray, who had served as CFO of RadioShack for less than a year, has resigned from the company, citing personal reasons.

Fort Worth, Texas – John Feray, who had served as CFO of RadioShack for less than a year, has resigned from the company, citing personal reasons. Holly F. Etlin, managing director of AlixPartners and longtime RadioShack advisor, has been named interim CFO of the struggling retailer. She previously served as RadioShack's interim CFO from July 2013 to February 2014.

Indianapolis – Hhgregg Inc. has hired Robert J. Riesbeck as CFO, effective Sept. 15. Riesbeck brings more than 25 years of experience in financial and operations management, most recently serving as Operations Executive/Group CFO at Sun Capital Partners, where he was responsible for financial and operations oversight of a group of portfolio companies with combined revenues exceeding $5 billion.

Aguilar, who has worked at Gap since 2011, is credited as helping to drive the company’s resurgence in brand awareness, especially among Millennials.

Woonsocket, R.I. - Mary Langowski has been named executive VP for strategy, policy and market development for CVS Health, effective Oct. 14. In this role, Langowski will direct CVS Health's strategy and market development functions, with a focus on identifying and expanding enterprise opportunities to new markets.

Her portfolio will also include leading the company's government affairs and policy development teams at the state and federal level, providing strategic counsel.

Jeffrey Smith, CEO of investment firm Starboard Value LLP, has resigned from Office Depot’s board of directors, effective immediately.

Boca Raton, Fla. - Jeffrey Smith, CEO of investment firm Starboard Value LLP, has resigned from Office Depot’s board of directors, effective immediately. The nominating and governance committee will commence a search for a replacement.

Smith, who joined the board in August 2013 to help Office Depot smoothly transition to a new combined company with OfficeMax and find a new CEO, said he is leaving because he is satisfied that Office Depot has reached both goals.

Ernest LaPorte has joined Ascena Retail Group Inc. as senior VP/chief accounting officer.

Mahwah, N.J. - Ernest LaPorte has joined Ascena Retail Group Inc. as senior VP/chief accounting officer. LaPorte will oversee Ascena’s accounting, financial reporting and accounting shared service functions.

For the last seven years, LaPorte held the position of senior VP/controller at Saks Inc. Prior to Saks, LaPorte worked at the Movado Group Inc. as VP of finance and principal accounting officer and Barnes & Noble, where he spent six years in finance.

Alco Stores on Friday said that its CEO of the past four years, Richard Wilson, has left the regional discounter by mutual agreement.

Coppell, Texas – Alco Stores on Friday said that its CEO of the past four years, Richard Wilson, has left the regional discounter by mutual agreement. Board director Stanley B. Latacha assumes the role of interim CEO, effective immediately. The changes were announced days after the discounter elected an entirely new slate of directors.

Latacha has more than 30 years of retail experience, including overseeing turnarounds at several chains, more recently Pamida.

The top leadership has changed as well, as the company announced Nine West Footwear Group CEO Kathy Nedorostek has stepped down. She will be replaced in the interim by Andrew Hede, a turnaround specialist and managing director with Alvarez & Marsal in New York.

Tiffany & Co. has named Jill Beraud as an executive VP, effective Oct. 13.

New York - Tiffany & Co. has named Jill Beraud as an executive VP, effective Oct. 13. Beraud will have responsibility for global retail operations including all sales channels in every region, as well as oversight of strategic store development and real estate.

Beraud, 54, joins Tiffany from salon product manufacturer Living Proof where she has been CEO since 2011. Prior to that, her experience includes senior-level executive and marketing roles at PepsiCo Inc., L Brands, Inc. and The Procter & Gamble Co., among others.

Tiffany & Co. announced that it has named Jill Beraud as an executive VP, effective Oct. 13.

New York -- Tiffany & Co. announced that it has named Jill Beraud as an executive VP, effective Oct. 13. She will have responsibility for global retail operations including all sales channels in every region, as well as oversight of strategic store development and real estate.

Beraud will report to Frederic Cumenal, president, who, as previously announced, will become Tiffany’s CEO effective April 1, 2015.

Beraud, 54, joins Tiffany from Living Proof where she has been CEO since 2011.
