Columbus, Ohio -- Steiner + Associates announced Monday that American Girl will open an 11,500-sq.-ft. store at its Easton Town Center property, located in Columbus, Ohio.

The American Girl store – a division of Mattel – is slated to open in 2013.

“Easton has grown to more than a half a billion dollars in annual sales in just a decade and it’s been our ability to upgrade, evolve and expand our great tenant mix that has driven that success,” said Yaromir Steiner, CEO, Steiner + Associates.

A trailblazing town center is getting more space and a cosmetic update.

Easton Town Center (Columbus, Ohio) co-developers Steiner + Associates and The Georgetown Co. have announced that they will be adding more than 50,000 sq. ft. of new tenants this year and renovating more than 150,000 sq. ft. of existing space.

“Great projects evolve on purpose,” said Yaromir Steiner, CEO, Steiner. “Our vision for Easton has been, and continues to be, to challenge ourselves to make it better every day.”

Mixed-use isn’t news, but it continues to make headlines anyway. After a several-year period when ground-up building has ranged from sluggish to practically non-existent, a number of mixed-use projects are beginning to stir with renewed life as leasing gains traction once again.


In Fall 2001, Steiner + Associates and Georgetown Co. completed the second phase of mixed-use trendsetter Easton Town Center, Columbus, Ohio -- and a decade later, the 1.7-million-sq.-ft. development stands as testament that the right project in the right location with the right uses can survive even the most trying economic conditions.

Chain Store Age talked with Yaromir Steiner, CEO of Columbus-based Steiner + Associates, about Easton’s staying power during a recession, and its continued evolution as it strives to remain relevant.
