Destination Maternity its total sales for the second quarter fell 2.1% to $134.9 million from $137.8 million.

Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity its total sales for the second quarter fell 2.1% to $134.9 million from $137.8 million. The company attributed the drop to the closure of all of its remaining leased departments within Babies “R” Us stores in October, along with the closures of underperforming stores.

Despite the sales drop, Destination Maternity said it now expects its second-quarter profit to fall in the top half of its previously projected range of 38 cents to 44 cents per share, crediting tight management of its expenses.

Destination Maternity Corp. reported that revenue for the first quarter edged down to $135.3 million, from $136.4 million in the year-ago period.

Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity Corp. reported Tuesday that revenue for the first quarter edged down to $135.3 million, from $136.4 million in the year-ago period. The results fell within internal expectations of $132.5 million to $136.5 million.

Same-store sales rose 1.9%.

The maternity apparel retailer said the decline in total revenue was due in large part to sales declines related to closing underperforming stores.

Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity Corp. announced that it has entered into a new $61 million revolving credit facility with Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

The new credit facility replaces the retailer's $55 million revolving credit facility with Bank of America, N.A., which was due to mature on January 13, 2013.

Destination Maternity reported that revenue for the fourth quarter dipped less than 1% to $128.5 million, but edged Wall Street’s expected $128.4 million in revenue for the period.

Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity reported Tuesday that revenue for the fourth quarter dipped less than 1% to $128.5 million, but edged Wall Street’s expected $128.4 million in revenue for the period. Same-store sales climbed 2.7%.

The retailer, whose brands include A Pea in the Pod, Motherhood Maternity and namesake stores, said the revenue dip in the fourth quarter was due largely to the closure of underperforming stores and that it expects quarterly earnings to exceed guidance.

In the Chicago area, Englewood has been tapped for three new retail projects, including the interior build-out for a new Trader Joe’s coming to the city’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Trader Joe’s will occupy 14,801 sq. ft. of first-floor retail space, topped by a two-story parking deck. The new store is slated to open in April.

Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity said its fourth-quarter net income tripled as cost-cutting measures paid off, even as sales in some categories fell.

The company earned almost $4.3 million for the quarter that ended Sept. 30, up from $1.4 million during the same period last year. Revenue rose slightly to $124.3 million, from $123.8 million a year earlier. Same-store sales fell 2.3%.
