Winick Realty Group announced that two of Columbus Square’s anchor tenants — Whole Foods and Michael’s — are expanding their footprints at the mixed-use development located in the heart of the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust announced Monday the acquisition of University Park Village, an open-air center located in Fort Worth, Texas.

Fort Worth, Texas -- Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust announced Monday the acquisition of University Park Village, an open-air center located in Fort Worth, Texas.

The 173,220-sq.-ft. center is 97% occupied, generates sales of more than $800/sq. ft., and is tenanted by Apple, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Lululemon Athletica and Madewell, among others.

Glimcher purchased University Park Village for $105 million.

Steiner + Associates announced that American Girl will open an 11,500-sq.-ft. store at its Easton Town Center property, located in Columbus, Ohio.

Columbus, Ohio -- Steiner + Associates announced Monday that American Girl will open an 11,500-sq.-ft. store at its Easton Town Center property, located in Columbus, Ohio.

The American Girl store – a division of Mattel – is slated to open in 2013.

“Easton has grown to more than a half a billion dollars in annual sales in just a decade and it’s been our ability to upgrade, evolve and expand our great tenant mix that has driven that success,” said Yaromir Steiner, CEO, Steiner + Associates.

DSW Inc. announced the acquisition of 810 AC LLC, which owns the corporate headquarters of DSW, as well as its 700,000-sq.-ft. distribution center and trailer lot on its home office campus in Columbus, Ohio.

Columbus, Ohio -- DSW Inc. announced Thursday the acquisition of 810 AC LLC, which owns the corporate headquarters of DSW, as well as its 700,000-sq.-ft. distribution center and trailer lot on its home office campus in Columbus, Ohio.

Purchase price was $72 million.

The company recently completed the $15 million installation of an automatic sortation facility in the distribution center to support its size replenishment program.

A trailblazing town center is getting more space and a cosmetic update.

Easton Town Center (Columbus, Ohio) co-developers Steiner + Associates and The Georgetown Co. have announced that they will be adding more than 50,000 sq. ft. of new tenants this year and renovating more than 150,000 sq. ft. of existing space.

“Great projects evolve on purpose,” said Yaromir Steiner, CEO, Steiner. “Our vision for Easton has been, and continues to be, to challenge ourselves to make it better every day.”

Leawood, Kan. -- Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust said Wednesday it has completed the acquisition of One Nineteen, an outdoor retail center located in Leawood, Kan.

One Nineteen is adjacent to Glimcher’s Town Center Plaza and will add approximately 165,000 sq. ft. of GLA to the combined property.  Tenant sales at One Nineteen average more than $900 per sq. ft., and the center is currently 93% leased featuring Kansas City’s first and only Crate & Barrel and lululemon athletica, as well as an Apple store.

Morrisville, N.C. -- Columbus, Ohio-based Casto announced that construction will commence on the next phases of the mixed-use lifestyle center, Park West Village, located in Morrisville, N.C.

Another 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space launches construction this month, according to Shannon Dixon, VP development, leasing and asset management for Casto’s Southeast operations.

Joining the next phase of Park West Village is a 55,000-sq.-ft. state-of-the-art 14-screen cinema, operated by Stone Theatres, formerly Consolidated Theatres.

DSW Inc. said it will open between 35 and 40 stores in 2012, up from an initial plan of 15 to 20 new stores this year.

Columbus, Ohio -- DSW Inc. said Tuesday it will open between 35 and 40 stores in 2012, up from an initial plan of 15 to 20 new stores this year.

The footwear and accessories retailer also raised its annual earnings guidance.

“The expansion of our footprint into new and existing markets is a key growth initiative for us,” said Mike MacDonald, president and CEO, DSW Inc.

The majority of the new stores are slated to open in the second half of 2012, according to the company.

Express Inc. reported that profit for the quarter ended Oct. 29 climbed 24% to $32.7 million, from $26.3 million in the year-ago period.

Revenue increased 8% to $486.8 million, just missing Wall Street’s expected $488.2 million, and same-store sales increase 5%.

Limited Brands Inc. reported Wednesday that profit for the third quarter rose 22% on higher sales at its Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works chains.

Columbus, Ohio -- Limited Brands Inc. reported Wednesday that profit for the third quarter rose 22% on higher sales at its Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works chains.

Net income rose to $94.3 million from $61.3 million a year earlier. As reported previously, revenue rose 10% to $2.17 billion.

The company has raised its outlook for the fourth quarter.

Limited Brands reported Wednesday that net income for the second quarter rose a better-than-expected 29% to $231.2 million, compared with $178.7 million in the year-ago period.

Columbus, Ohio -- Limited Brands reported Wednesday that net income for the second quarter rose a better-than-expected 29% to $231.2 million, compared with $178.7 million in the year-ago period. 

It cited strong full-price sales at Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works for the strong showing.

Revenue rose 10% to $2.46 billion, matching Wall Street expectations. Same-store sales rose 9%.

The 40,805-sq.-ft. apparel/variety merchandise retailer signed an eleven year lease and will join a dominant tenant lineup at this 361,000-sq.-ft. shopping center including Kroger, Marshall’s, Sears Outlet, and Citi Trends.

Shoppers World is expected to open in the summer.

Casto announced that Menards has purchased 20 acres of land at Columbus Corporate Center, on the east side of Columbus, Ohio.

Columbus, Ohio -- Casto announced that Menards has purchased 20 acres of land at Columbus Corporate Center, on the east side of Columbus, Ohio.

According to Menards, construction on its 160,000-sq.-ft. store will commence later this spring. This will be the second Menards location in Columbus. The first location, situated at Northland is scheduled to open this spring.

DSW said Monday it has appointed Christopher Lanning as senior VP and general manager of the retailer’s Leased Business Division.
