Santa Clara, Calif. — Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, Calif., is welcoming nine new retailers.

They include:

•    Prada recently opened a new 6,254-sq.-ft. boutique.
•    Ferragamo has opened a new 3,155-sq.-ft. store.
•    UNIQLO will open a new store this fall.
•    49ers Team Store is scheduled to open this month.
•    MAKE UP FOR EVER will open a 1,100-sq.-ft. boutique next week.

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Most malls have food courts. Westfield Valley Fair Mall in California’s Silicon Valley has begun construction of a multi-million dollar dining terrace that will feature indoor and alfresco seating.

Where in Silicon Valley is the mall? It straddles the border between two noted Silicon Valley cities: Santa Clara and San Jose.

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Burberry, Tag Heuer and Wolford will join Westfield Valley Fair’s collection of luxury retailers, marking the debut of the South Bay shopping center’s first phase of significant expansion.

The new stores will join Cartier, Mont Blanc, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. on the east side of Westfield Valley Fair.

Best Buy, Sears and Target ranked as the top three cross-channel performers in a study by CrossView, a provider of cross-channel commerce solutions.

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Best Buy, Sears and Target ranked as the top three cross-channel performers in a study by CrossView, a provider of cross-channel commerce solutions. The study, which examined the cross-channel capabilities of 25 top retailers, found that a majority of retailers are providing an unsatisfactory cross-channel experience.

Wal-Mart Stores said Tuesday that it is leveraging last year’s acquisition of video-streaming service Vudu to launch digital online movie rental and streaming on Walmart.com.

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Wal-Mart Stores said Tuesday that it is leveraging last year’s acquisition of video-streaming service Vudu to launch digital online movie rental and streaming on Walmart.com.

On Tuesday the retailer started offering 20,000 titles that can be viewed on almost any device with Internet access, from PCs to televisions to Sony's PlayStation3 and other Blu-Ray disc players.
