A joint venture between Charter Realty & Development Corp. and Regency Centers Corporation has acquired Fellsway Plaza in Medford, Mass.

Medford, Mass. — A joint venture between Charter Realty & Development Corp. and Regency Centers Corporation has acquired Fellsway Plaza in Medford, Mass. The joint venture acquired the 150,000-sq.-ft. neighborhood center, anchored by a recently constructed Stop & Shop, from Berenson Associates of Boston. PNC Bank provided permanent and development financing. Commercial Property Group represented the joint venture in the transaction.

SoulCycle has taken 3,000 sq. ft. of new space at the expanding Woodbury Common Shopping Center in Woodbury on Long Island, said Charter Realty & Development Corp., who represented SoulCycle.

Woodbury, N.Y. -- SoulCycle has taken 3,000 sq. ft. of new space at the expanding Woodbury Common Shopping Center in Woodbury on Long Island, said Charter Realty & Development Corp., who represented SoulCycle.

Owned and managed by Kabro Associates, the 85,000-sq.-ft. Woodbury Common is undergoing a 30,000-sq.-ft. expansion that will add parking, amenities and new facades.

Fresh Market will take 20,000 sq. ft. of the new space.

Charter Realty & Development Corp. announced that shortly after acquiring Towers Plaza in Melrose, Mass., it has signed a 20-year lease for 29,980 sq. ft. to Whole Foods Market.

Whole Foods will move into a space currently occupied by Johnny’s Foodmaster. The space will undergo a major renovation that will coincide with Charter’s renovation of the balance of the center.

Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that it has arranged for a 2,500-sq.-ft. lease for McDonald’s located in the Springfield Plaza in Springfield, Mass.

Springfield, Mass. -- Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that it has arranged for a 2,500-sq.-ft. lease for McDonald’s located in the Springfield Plaza in Springfield, Mass.

Springfield Plaza is a 550,000-sq.-ft. center anchored by Kmart, Rocky's, TJ Maxx, Ocean State Job Lot, Savers, Stop & Shop and Entertainment Cinema. McDonald’s will be locating on a site formerly occupied by KFC. Construction is expected to start shortly, said Charter.

Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that it has added three new tenants, totaling 11, 501 sq. ft., to the Lake Shore Plaza II Shopping Center, located in Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

AutoZone has leased 7,184 sq. ft., Verizon leased 1,817 sq. ft., and Century 21 leased 2,500 sq. ft.

Westport, Conn.-based Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that ground was broken on Storrs Center, a new mixed-use town center to be located adjacent to the University of Connecticut in Mansfield.

At completion, the project will include approximately 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space, 700 residential units, and significant open space.

The plaza is currently fully occupied, and Charter Realty will be responsible for leasing a new 22,500-sq.-ft. building coming on line at the end of August.

Current tenants include The Meat House, Union Savings Bank, The Learning Experience and Cork’n Barrel.

Westport, Conn.-based Charter Realty & Development Corp. said it has arranged a lease for 25,000 sq. ft. for a T.J. Maxx store in the Aroostook Center Mall in Presque Isle, Maine.

T.J. Maxx will join Lowes, Sears, J.C. Penney and others in this project. This 525,000-sq.-ft. center is owned by Sitt Assett Management.

Charter Realty currently represents TJX Cos. for their T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, Marshalls Shoes and HomeGoods divisions in various markets throughout the Northeast.

Middletown, N.Y. — Charter Realty & Development Corp. said that three new leases and one relocation, totaling 90,372 sq. ft. has brought the Dunning Farms Shopping Center, located in Middletown, NY., to 100% occupancy.

Since being brought on to lease Dunning Farms, Charter has executed new leases with Ollies Bargain Basement for 30,775 sq. ft., with Groo Shoes for 3,880 sq. ft., and with Nilsen Insurance for 1,175 sq. ft. What-a-Store has relocated to a 28,000-sq.-ft. store.
