EDENS has announced that four new local retailers and restaurants will open at Park Road Shopping Center in Charlotte, N.C., in the coming months.

Columbia, S.C. — EDENS has announced that four new local retailers and restaurants will open at Park Road Shopping Center in Charlotte, N.C., in the coming months.

The newly announced additions include:

• Cantina 1511, a Mexican eatery, plans to open toward the end of this summer.

• Va Da Vie is a local gelato store scheduled to open in February.

• LALA Girl, a locally owned beauty service makeup bar, plans to open this spring.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Crosland Southeast announced it plans to develop a Harris Teeter-anchored shopping center in Clayton, N.C.

Clayton, N.C. -- Charlotte, N.C.-based Crosland Southeast announced Monday it plans to develop a Harris Teeter-anchored shopping center in Clayton, N.C. Flowers Crossroads will be part of the master-planned Flowers Plantation development. Construction on phase one of the 125,000-sq.-ft. center is slated for a late fall 2012 launch, with an anticipated opening date of fall 2013.
 
Flowers Crossroads will be a 28-acre multi-use site anchored by the first Harris Teeter grocery store in Johnston County, just southeast of Raleigh, N.C.

Videogame maker Electronic Arts has entered the retail arena, opening the EA Sports Experience store, at the Charlotte Douglas International airport, Charlotte, N.C.

New York City -- Videogame maker Electronic Arts has entered the retail arena, opening the EA Sports Experience store, at the Charlotte Douglas International airport, Charlotte, N.C. It will open two additional U.S. airport locations by the end of 2011.

The store sells EA Sports’ games and branded apparel, as well as gear from local sports teams. It features televisions with live sports programming, comfortable seating and electrical outlets to charge portable devices. Customers can also play their favorite EA Sports video games.

X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors, said that Charlotte, N.C.-based partner The Chambers Group has completed a lease for the first small-format Burlington Coat Factory store in Charlotte.

Scheduled to open Oct. 1 at Woodlawn Marketplace, the smaller format store will be roughly 48,000 sq. ft. and joins T.J. Maxx and Family Dollar.

Charlotte, N.C.-based The Chambers Group, an X Team partner, said it has completed a lease for the first REI in South Carolina.

Greenville, S.C. -- Charlotte, N.C.-based The Chambers Group, an X Team partner, said it has completed a lease for the first REI in South Carolina.

The outdoor equipment retailer will join The Point shopping center, a Whole Foods-anchored property located in Greenville, S.C., and owned by Beachwood, Ohio-based Developers Diversified Realty.

REI will occupy 22,000 sq. ft. of a former Circuit City space.
