CVS Health has completed the purchase of Miami-based Navarro Discount Pharmacy, the largest Hispanic-owned drugstore chain in the U.S.

Woonsocket, R.I. - CVS Health has completed the purchase of Miami-based Navarro Discount Pharmacy, the largest Hispanic-owned drugstore chain in the U.S. The acquisition includes Navarro's 33 retail drugstore locations and Navarro Health Services, a specialty pharmacy serving patients with complex or chronic diseases.

The retail drugstores will retain the Navarro Discount Pharmacy name.

CVS Caremark on Wednesday announced that it is changing its corporate name to CVS Health to reflect its broad healthcare commitment.

CVS/pharmacy launched its entrance into the Seattle market with the grand opening of a new location in the city of Renton, the first CVS/pharmacy in the state of Washington.

Woonsocket, R.I. – CVS/pharmacy launched its entrance into the Seattle market with the grand opening of a new location in the city of Renton, the first CVS/pharmacy in the state of Washington. In addition to the new store in Renton, the company will open two more Seattle-area stores in 2014 and will open its first store in the city of Seattle next summer.

With its entrance into Seattle, CVS/pharmacy now has a presence in all 20 top drugstore markets in the U.S. The Renton store is one of the first tobacco-free CVS locations in the U.S.

Prior to CVS/pharmacy, Price's held positions with Wawa Food Markets; H-E-B Grocery Stores; Imasco Limited (the former parent company of Hardees and Roy Rogers Restaurants); and The Monitor Company, a strategy consulting firm.

CVS/pharmacy has expanded the ExtraCare loyalty program, allowing members to send more of their savings and rewards directly to their ExtraCare cards.

Woonsocket, R.I. - CVS/pharmacy has expanded the ExtraCare loyalty program, allowing members to send more of their savings and rewards directly to their ExtraCare cards. Through the Send to Card feature, ExtraCare cardholders can now digitally send all personalized offers available on CVS.com and the CVS Mobile app, as well as coupons received via email, to their cards in a single click.

Send to Card was first introduced in 2011 and provided a digital option for select coupons and rewards. Now, ExtraCare members can send more coupons to their cards.

Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS/pharmacy now provides ScripTalk talking prescription labels for prescriptions ordered for home delivery through its online pharmacy, CVS.com. The ScripTalk labels provide a way to access information on prescription labels for individuals who cannot read standard print.

The ScripTalk labels are free to CVS.com pharmacy customers who are blind or visually impaired. Customers can also obtain a free ScripTalk reader from Envision America that will enable them to listen to the information on the ScripTalk label.

Queens, N.Y. — A CVS Pharmacy and The Boulevard, a new family restaurant, have leased space in the Francis Lewis Boulevard Shopping Center in the Whitestone section of Queens, N.Y.

The CVS transaction is a lease renewal for an existing 13,500-sq.-ft. pharmacy. The Boulevard has taken 4,000 sq. ft. and plans to open by the end of March.

The Francis Lewis Boulevard tenant lineup also includes McDonalds, First Savings Bank, Kumon and Aphrodite Sweets.

CVS Caremark and Cardinal Health have entered into an agreement to form the largest generic sourcing entity in the United States.

Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS Caremark and Cardinal Health have entered into an agreement to form the largest generic sourcing entity in the United States.

Both companies are contributing their sourcing and supply chain expertise to this 50/50 joint venture and are committing to source generic drugs through it. The companies separately announced a three-year extension through June 2019 of Cardinal Health's existing pharmaceutical distribution agreements with CVS Caremark.

Cosby has led the company’s retail business since October 2011, including its more than 7,600 retail stores, 19 distribution centers and retail merchandising, supply chain, marketing, real estate, front store and pharmacy operations.

The first MinuteClinic walk-in medical clinic in coastal Southeastern North Carolina has opened inside a CVS/pharmacy store in Wilmington.

Woonsocket, R.I. - The first MinuteClinic walk-in medical clinic in coastal Southeastern North Carolina has opened inside a CVS/pharmacy store in Wilmington. Additional clinics in Carolina Beach and Leland are expected to open in late October.  

The Wilmington clinic is MinuteClinic's 54th in North Carolina. The clinics are open seven days a week. No appointments are required at MinuteClinic and most health insurance is accepted.

Publix Pharmacy is North America’s favorite based on customer satisfaction, according to a new study of 3,600 consumers conducted by customer intelligence solutions provider Market Force Information.

Boulder, Col. -- Publix Pharmacy is North America’s favorite based on customer satisfaction, according to a new study of 3,600 consumers conducted by customer intelligence solutions provider Market Force Information. Target was a close second and Kroger ranked third. All three received high marks in operational attributes such as service, cleanliness, atmosphere and checkout times.

Walgreens and CVS/pharmacy ranked the highest when those consumers were asked to name their pharmacy chain, with 18% identifying Walgreens and 17% CVS.
