Denim specialty retailer Buckle plans to open a store at Golden Triangle Mall on Oct.17.

Denton, Texas — Denim specialty retailer Buckle plans to open a store at Golden Triangle Mall on Oct.17. Golden Triangle, Denton’s only mall, features Macy’s, Dillard’s, J.C. Penney, Sears, Barnes & Noble and DSW Show Warehouse as anchors.

Cencor Realty Services manages the mall and The Weitzman Group is the exclusive leasing agent for the property.

The Buckle’s net income rose 8% in the second quarter on improved sales.

Kearney, Neb. -- The Buckle’s net income rose 8% in the second quarter on improved sales. The apparel retailer earned $25.1 million for the three months ended Aug. 3, compared to $23.2 million a year ago.

Revenue grew 8%, to $232.5 million from $215.5 million. Online sales rose 5.3%. Same-store increased 3.2%, short of analysts expectations.

Revenue increased 2.3% to $269.7 million from $263.8 million, and same-store sales edged up 1.2%.

Revenue rose 11% to $337.1 million from $303.1 million. Same-store sales increased 8%. Online sales, which are not included in that total surged 31% to $27.6 million.

Buckle, which also sells tops, shoes and other clothing, caters to teens.

Online sales increased 25.4% in the quarter. Total revenue climbed 12% to $273.4 million, beating Wall Street’s expected $272.1 million. Same-store sales rose 9.1%.

Kearney, Neb. -- Teen apparel retailer The Buckle reported Thursday that net income for the quarter ended July 31 climbed 13.5% to $23.6 million. Revenue rose 12.6% to $212.4 million, and same-store sales increased 8.5%.

The company also reported that its CFO Karen Rhoads will remain in her position, after having said earlier this year that she would be stepping down.
