Lululemon Athletica Inc. named Laurent Potdevin as CEO, and also announced founder Chip Wilson will step down as non-executive chairman.

Vancouver, British Columbia -- Lululemon Athletica Inc. on Tuesday named Laurent Potdevin as CEO, and also announced founder Chip Wilson will step down as non-executive chairman. Potdevin, most recently president of Toms Shoes, will replace Lululemon’s current CEO, Christine Day, in January, and will also become a director at that time. Prior to Toms, he served as president and CEO of Burton Snowboards from 2005 – 2010.

Cabela’s Inc. announced plans to enter three new markets – Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada; Garner, N.C.; and Sun Prairie, Wis.

Sidney, Neb. -- Cabela’s Inc. announced  plans to enter three new markets – Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada; Garner, N.C.; and Sun Prairie, Wis.

Construction on Cabela’s 100,000-sq. ft. Garner store – its first North Carolina location – is scheduled to begin next summer. The store is expected to open in spring of 2015.

Target plans to open the doors to an additional 20 stores in Canada between July 16 and July 30.

Mississauga, Ont. -- Target plans to open the doors to an additional 20 stores in Canada between July 16 and July 30. The stores will be located in in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario
 
The openings mark Target’s first openings in Saskatchewan and follow the unveiling of 48 stores across Canada earlier this year. The new 20 locations officially push Target past the halfway mark for store openings this year. The retailer plans to open 124 stores across Canada throughout 2013.

Target will sponsor a tour across Canada that will visit more than 20 communities ahead of the planned opening of its stores in the country, the retailer said Tuesday.

Mississauga, Ontario -- Target will sponsor a tour across Canada that will visit more than 20 communities ahead of the planned opening of its stores in the country, the retailer said Tuesday.

The tour will start in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and conclude in British Columbia in the middle of December. Target plans to open 124 stores in Canada starting in March and April 2013.

Yoga apparel retailer and manufacturer Lululemon athletica reported Thursday that net income for the quarter ended Oct. 31 rose to $25.7 million, compared with $14.1 million in the year-ago period.

Vancouver, British Columbia -- Yoga apparel retailer and manufacturer Lululemon athletica reported Thursday that net income for the quarter ended Oct. 31 rose to $25.7 million, compared with $14.1 million in the year-ago period.

Net revenue surged 56% to $175.8 million, from $112.9 million. Same-store sales increased 29%.

The company operates 134 stores in North America and Australia.

Dollar Tree announced that it has completed its purchase of the assets of Dollar Giant Store Ltd, which is based in Vancouver, B.C.

Chesapeake, Va. -- Dollar Tree announced that it has completed its purchase of the assets of  Dollar Giant Store Ltd, which is based in Vancouver, B.C. The purchase is Dollar Tree’s first expansion of its retail operations outside of the United States.

Dollar Giant stores offer a wide assortment of quality general merchandise, contemporary seasonal goods and everyday consumables, all priced at $1.25 (CAD) or less. The stores average 9,000 sq. ft. and operate in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
