It’s hard to think of a company, retail or otherwise, that isn’t developing a mobile app these days — but the vast majority of apps are riddled with security flaws that could jeopardize the end-user and expose the company to high costs and embarrassment.

With the new app, CVS customers can explore a virtual 3-D CVS/pharmacy and access services from the pharmacy, ExtraCare, photo center and MinuteClinic, as well as browse departments to shop.

The app will contain various content throughout any given year, the first of which appears Tuesday in the form of the 60th anniversary Wish Book.

Dunkin Brands said it has launched its first-ever mobile app for payment and gifting purposes.

Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin Brands said Friday it has launched its first-ever mobile app for payment and gifting purposes.

The app for iPhone, iPod touch or Android smartphone will allow users to pay food, beverages, and merchandise at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout the U.S. by scanning a device in-store or at the drive-thru.

Additionally, an mGift feature will enable consumers to send virtual gift cards three ways – text, email, and Facebook Connect.
